Match Preview

Newport - Cardiff

Cardiff travel to Rodney Parade for a rare Saturday afternoon game against the Black & Ambers

Following last weekend’s game at Pontypridd Head Coach Steve Law is forced into more changes with players injured or unavailable. “We were hugely disappointed with the result at Sardis Rd last week. Right up until the last minutes we had a chance to win but it was our indiscipline that cost us in the end. There were positives though, our defence was excellent and our endeavour and effort kept us in the game. We will need to sort out the discipline though to give us any chance of winning at Newport”

“Unavailability is becoming an issue to the squad at the moment and we picked up a few more knocks last week. From our squad we are now missing at least eight players who have been a big part of our games so far this season. Miles Normandale, Dan Crimmins, Reuben Tucker, Joey Tomlinson, Ian Jenkins, Rhodri Cole, Ben White and James Murphy are all out this week, but it is the start of the second half of the season and there is still plenty of rugby to play”
