Bargoed - Cardiff

Cardiff Travel to Bargoed on Friday (2:30pm) looking to extend a run of four wins in four games.
The team shows 5 changes from the side that beat Aberavon last Friday night, 2 of which are forced by injury.

James Beal is due to have an operation shortly that will keep him out for the rest of the season and Rory Pitman also has an injury that the prognoses does not look good on.

Head Coach Steve Law said ‘in a season that has been blighted by long term injuries this is the last thing we needed, I have never been involved in a season where a team has been hit so hard by such injuries, having already lost Joe (Tomlinson) Miles (Normandale) Reuben (Tucker) and Dan ( Crimmins) this does not help the cause. And at a point where we had a relatively settled side that had run into some sort of form in putting together a run of games. Add to that the unavailability of players like Daf Smith – who is at the Hong Kong sevens – at going to Bargoed looks an even tougher ask that it already was.

Playing at Bargoed Park is never easy as we found out earlier in the season. The squad will have to draw on everything they have, but I’m sure they will rise to a very tough challenge.”
