Aberavon - Cardiff

Cardiff travel down the M4 to take on Aberavon at the Talbot Athletic Ground on Saturday (2:30) looking to extend their run of wins to five.

Last weekend the Blue & Blacks scored seven tries in the win over Llanelli that saw them lifted to sixth in the table. But Head Coach Steve Law said there was still plenty to work on “yes we scored seven tries but the defence was an issue in conceding five tries against us. This weekend will be a huge challenge, we know how good Aberavon are especially on their own patch. We will need to tighten that defence considerably as well as execute going forward.

We have made a few changes but we are showing some trust in some of the combinations that we tried out last week. We know the standards we have and will be looking to get to those standards if we want to come away from Aberavon with something”

Cardiff make changes from last week’s side. Zach O’Driscoll, Callum Bradbury, Joey Tomlinson, Rory Pitman and Thomas Davies starting. In the backline Gareth Thompson and Joe Gatt start. On the bench there is a welcome return from injury for Keiron Brown, he is joined by another shorter term injury returnee in Ian Jenkins.
