Nick Macleod finished with a personal haul of 22 points as the Blue & Blacks recorded a courageous victory at the Gnoll.In a match in which the lead changed hands several times, Cardiff shocked Neath with four tries, all converted by the fly-half.

The Blue & Blacks led 10-0 in the early stages and 13-7 at half -time only to be overhauled and trail 13-20 after the interval.They came back to 20-all, fell behind again to another Neath converted try but finished strongly with 17 points in the final quarter.

The match was a triumph for Cardiff’s younger and lighter pack, with James Malpas regularly crossing the gain line and Macleod finding his kicking boots behind. His seven successful kicks - four conversions and three penalty goals - came from eight attempts.

Cardiff’s try scorers were Elgan Jones,with his 11th league try of the season, Liam Roberts, Matt Allen and Macleod.
