A converted try in the fourth minute of injury time gave the Blue & Blacks a great win over Bridgend atTaffs Well. Cardiff had trailed from the 23rd minute after Anthony Carter had put the Ravens ahead with a try. A Gareth David penalty goal stretched the visitors' lead but, playing into an icy wind Cardiff hit back with a great try by Elgan Jones after a fine run by Richard Jones.
Chris Anderson converted and at 7-8 the Blue & Blacks were well-placed.But in first-half injury time the defence went to sleep as Brendan Roach ran through a line out and Dean Fitzgerald scored at the posts. David converted and when he added another penalty goal early in the second half Cardiff had a mountain to climb.An Anderson penalty gosl was quickly followed by a try by Nuthall that owed everything to his deceptive pace.
The clock ticked around into injury time and Bridgend seemed safe but a mix-up at the back of their scrum sent the ball loose over their line. Johnathan Edwards pounced for a real forager's try and Anderson's conversion was the icing on the cake.
