Tries by Ryan Price and man-of-the-match Dan McShane and seven points from the boot of Chris Anderson saw the Blue & Blacks to an excellent away win at Carmarthen Park.Having survived a torrid first half playing against the elements Owen Ruttley's side hit back in great style after the interval to control the game for long periods.
With passive scrums being employed in the closing stages coaches Mike Rayer and Howard Stone had the wit to send on back-rower Adam Powell as a prop replacement. Rayer explained, "We were comfortable with our 17-16 lead but the extra insurance policy was to utilise Adam as a fresh pair of legs and an extra tackler and the experiment worked a treat."He also praised McShane who he said was "immense" in his role as a lock forward.
He added,"All the team knew they had let themselves down last week in a game they should have won with something to spare. Today they showed their character and we can all look forward now to the final fortnight of the season with one more away match at Newbridge on Tuesday evening and then two games at the Arms Park to finish our league programme."
