Cross Keys secured a second successive win at the Arms Park, outscoring their hosts by four tries to two. The early stages belonged to the home side though. Rhys Patchell kicking them into an early lead. Keys got on the scoreboard with a Robert Nash try but fell behind again when Luke Hamilton ended a flowing Cardiff move that had gone form one end of the field to the other.
The advantage was increased shortly after when scrum half Hopkins shot through a hole that opened up in the defence on the twenty-two to score under the posts, Patchell added the extras. Keys responded with their second try just before half time after poor defence from the home side, Nathan Trowbridge being put clear for a simple try in the corner to bring them back into the game.
After the break it was all one way traffic. Dragons fly half Matthew Jones and Patchell traded penalties before former Cardiff prop Richard Cornock found himself at the end of an overlap to score Keys third. The home side retook the lead through another Patchell penalty but the visitors secured their bonus point when Nash crossed for his second after a series of pick a drives.
Cardiff were being denied any ball as the Keys too a strangle hold of the game. Matthew Jones landed three more penalties as the Keys dominated the possession emulating last seasons 34-22 win and deny Cardiff a loosing bonus point.
