Llandovery gained a second win over Cardiff and secured a bonus point in the process. The first half was a feast of running rugby. The Drovers took the lead in the fifth minute when Luke Kendall crashed over from a short range scrum. Gareth Davies got the Blue & Blacks on the board with two penalties before Huw Grundy was send dashing over in the corner to regain the lead for the visitors.
No sooner had the conversion hit the post than the home side regained the advantage. An all Cardiff Blues move saw Davies expertly pick out Richard Mustoe with a cross kick for him to score, Davies added the extras and became only the third Cardiff player to convert 100 tries in league rugby.
Owen Williams extended that advantage with a chip and chase that caught everyone napping before Mike Evans brought the Drovers back into the game with a well worked try following a flowing move. Davies slipped over a short range penalty just before half time to send Cardiff down the tunnel one point up.
The second half didn’t live up to the first. Davies added one more penalty for Cardiff to extend that lead. Matthew Jacobs score pushed the visitors in front once more, a lead they were not to loose. Cerith Rees added two penalties to see the Drovers to victory
