Tom Williams tore Tonmawr apart as he equalled the Cardiff League scoring record of Nick Walne by touching down six times at the Arms Park.
His first came after a Luke Richards penalty had given the visitors an early lead. Good approach play by Gareth Davies. His second can be credited to the pack who were dominant all day. Rory Watts-Jones stole yet another ball from the visitors and fed Dan Fish. He created space for the winger to score. His hat-trick was completed as he rounded off another team move Fish again the provider of the scoring pass.
Tonmawr did get a try of their own trough Steff Andrews and Richards added another penalty to complete their scoring, but Williams delivered his forth and the try bonus point with a well worked fourth in the corner. Cory Allen added a fifth for the Blue & Blacks just before half time.
The second half was one way traffic as the Cardiff pack destroyed any ball Tonmawr had. This laid the platform for more running rugby from the home back-line and Williams was to profit again by being on the end of a set move. His fifth try came from an interception deep in the Tonmawr twenty-two. His six was scored after dummying the fullback. To round things off Matthew John added a try off his own and Cardiff’s eighth of the day.
