Cardiff went down to a second league defeat, this time away at Carmarthen Park
Following a delayed start due to traffic issues on the M4 it was the Blue & Blacks that started the game the better of the two side, Quins were penalised at a scrum to give the first points of the game. Joe Griffin landing the penalty. And it got better for the visitors moments later. Cory Allen showed made a break on halfway, he was able to link up with his team mates. Good hands followed and eventually Matthew Screech was able to cross for the game’s first try. Griffin landed the extras.
Carmarthen came back strongly though and just before the break Carwyn James went over for their first points of the afternoon
After the break though it got worse for the visitors. Aaron Fowler was harshly binned and while we was sitting out his ten minutes the home side took full advantage. Tries by Richard Wilkes and James Davies saw the gain the upper hand in the game.
The Blue & Blacks though came back at the Quins with two well worked tries of their own. Steve Cullen scoring his first try for Cardiff after another example of team rugby. Reuben Tucker then got on the scoreboard to give the away side hope.
It wasn’t to be enough though, a Rheon James try and a late Dixon penalty denied the Blue & Blacks the losing bonus point they deserved.
