Cardiff gained a bonus point win at the Brewery Field to continue the good work started last Saturday.
Bridgend showed the early promise with Cardiff not playing with last weekend’s fluidity and it was no surprise when the Ravens took the lead through a Ben Thomas penalty.
Cardiff responded though when a well crafted move saw Luke Hamilton link with Gareth Davies, the outside half shooting through a hole to score a try his 21st try for Cardiff, he added the extras to put the Blue & Blacks ahead. Two minutes he was on target again as he landed a simple penalty.
Davies was starting to control the game and when he put Cardiff in the right areas they began to take some sort of control. A penalty saw the visitors kick to the corner, from the resulting lineout Ellis Jenkins crawled over from short range, Davies again target with the kick.
The defence was also on top, forcing the Ravens to kick ball away. The kicks were also under pressure and when one such kick landed near the ten metre line Joe Griffin colleted it, sidestepped the tackles before linking up to put Steve Cullen under the posts. Just before the break the bonus point was secured, Luke Hamilton latching on to a loose pass in midfield to race in from half way.
The start of the second half saw Cardiff still in the ascendancy. A clever cross-field kick nearly resulted in a score for Cory Allen, only the touchline coming to the Ravens rescue. A serious Bridgend injury disrupted the game for ten minutes and neither side really got it back together after that point.
Garyn Lucas scored from short range after Joe Griffin had chipped through and Ellis Jenkins pounced on the ball to pop it up for the scrum half. Ashley James got a score for the Ravens. But the damage had been done in the first half as Cardiff wrapped up the game and the points.
