Cardiff scored nine tries against Pentyrch in a much needed run out at the Arms Park.
The scoring started in the 3rd minute as James Sheekey was at the back of a driving maul to crash over, Joe Griffin converted. Griffin was at the heart of the second try, scored in the 11th minute. George Lee on his shoulder to cross for the first of his hat-trick. Pentyrch’s resistance was being put to the test, but the held out until 2 minutes before the break. Will Baird spotted space around the side of a scrum five to score from close range. Straight from the kick-off though the Blue & Blacks scored again. Great interplay between backs and forwards ended with James Loxton crossing in the corner, Griffin added the extras.
Will Baird grabbed his second in the 7th minute of the second half following a great break by Callum Lewis. That was though Lewis’ last involvement in the game as a nasty looking injury forced him from the field. Four further tries followed for the home side, George Lee scored his second and third, the last one being where a good flanker should be, on the shoulder of the ball carrier, Shaun Powell being the provider. Will Rees Hole and Geriant Llewellyn provided the other tries. Llewellyn, on his debut for Cardiff converted all four.
