Cardiff came away from the Bridge Field with nothing following an eight try blitz from the home side.
The game started brightly for the Blue & Blacks. Within a minute Ellis Wyn Benham had slipped away from his opposite number, linked with Jack Phillips who found James Thomas in support to score. Thomas added the conversion and the visitors looked on their way.
But that was when Bedwas woke up. The home side pinned Cardiff back in their own half. Former Cardiff scrum half Tom Rowlands stretched over in the corner for an unconverted try. A few minutes later and a powerful scrum was rewarded with a penalty try and the first of Cardiff’s yellow cards. Thomas did narrow the gap with a penalty but back came Bedwas again. Full back Kurt Clabby broke free to feed No8 Andrew Waite to score. James Dixon hit the upright with his conversion but was on the scoresheet when he ran in from over halfway, Cardiff unable to lay a hand on the outside half.
The second half was more of the same from the home side. Another yellow saw Cardiff’s defence tested again, but this time it withstood the onslaught. But Bedwas weren’t giving up despite their lead. Waite again crashed over and Dixon added the extras. Josh Skinner charged down a clearance kick and followed up to score before replacement hooker Jack Haines finished off the scoring
