Cardiff will open near neighbours Barry RFC’s centenary celebrations at Reservoir Fields on Aug 4^th in a game that is likely to spark local interest as well as being a short hop for supporters. The Following day its on the road again as the squad sets about defending their crown at the Abercynon 7s on Sunday 5^th Aug.

London Scottish will be the first home game of the season when they visit the Arms Park on Aug 11th. Scottish last visited the Arms Park in the Rebel season, the Blue & Blacks coming out on top on that occasion. Scottish are currently coached by Simon Amor and include the likes of Scottish International fly half Phil Godman amongst their playing staff. This game will be played on the same day as Cardiff Blues entertain Worcester Warriors, details of kick off times will be published shortly on what will be a great day out at the Arms Park for Cardiff Rugby fans.

The following weekend and its another Championship challenge as the Blue & Blacks travel to Goldington Road for a reverse of last season’s friendly at the Arms Park. On that occasion Mike Rayer’s team won a highly entertaining game. The Bedford Blues will be looking to push on following last season’s disappointment in the Championship and they will provide stern opposition to test the squad. The game will be played on Friday 17^th Aug - 7.45pm kick off.

Then it’s back to Wales for a midweek (Wed 22^nd) visit to Cyncoed and the students of UWIC, again a reciprocal fixture from last season before a final warm up against Ealing at the Arms Park.

Ealing finished runners up to Jersey in the English National League One. Founded in 1869 they boast a proud history, and in their early years were a match for the likes of London Wasps, Irish, Harlequins, Richmond and Blackheath to name a few. This will be the first meeting between the two clubs.
