Cardiff - Bargoed

Cardiff entertain Bargoed in the Principality Premiership at the Arms Park (Friday 10th – 7:30) and pick a much changed side from the one that took the field at Merthyr last week.

With the Cardiff Blues in action, the Blue & Blacks lose out on the services of Rhys Carre, Dan Fish, Owen Lane, Ben Thomas, Ben White and Lewis Jones, all of whom have been a major part of the Blue & Black squad so far this season.

Head Coach Steve Law said of those released to the Blues ’whilst they will be missed at the Arms Park each deserves an opportunity at the higher level given their performances this season. We will also be missing Dan (Crimmins) and Gareth (Thompson) both of whom picked up injuries last week.’

‘That said that leaves several opportunities for players to show their worth in Blue & Black and stake a claim for a regular starting shirt. It will be good to see Adam Jones in Cardiff colours following his long layoff from injury and James Greenfield also starts for the first time in Blue & Black, Both have trained really hard this week and deserve their starting call.’

‘We are also thankful to Glamorgan Wanderers, Newbridge, and Tata Steel for the permit of Luke Fish, Curtis Hicks, Geraint Watkin and Bleddyn Davies and there is an interesting name on the bench, given the injury crisis we have had to press James Dixon into putting his boots on, hopefully if he gets on he will remember to take off his head set.’
