Cardiff RFC are delighted to announce the appointment of Joey Tomlinson as captain for the forth-coming season.

Joey was selected as captain at the beginning of last season only for that to be cut short by an injury in October that was to keep him out for the entire 2017/18 campaign.

Speaking of the appointment Head Coach Steve Law said ‘Joey has worked tremendously hard since his injury so early last season, but at every opportunity he was at the game, supporting from the terraces and towards the end of the season being there as part of the team on the pitch even though not able to play. His determination to get back to fitness is all down to his desire to play again this season and I am delighted he has accepted the captaincy.’

Tomlinson himself said ‘as a local boy I am immensely proud to be the captain of my home town club. Last year was tough with the injury but wanting get back on the pitch in Blue & Black was a huge driver for me. I would also like to thank all those who have been involved in the process of getting me back fit ready for this season. I am looking forward to what promises to be a great season for Cardiff RFC’.
