Bernard Ruel Turnbull was a Welsh international centre who played club rugby for Cardiff and was capped six times for Wales.
Turnbull was one of six brothers to play for Cardiff RFC, he started his rugby as a boy for St Peters RFC, along with his brothers Maurice and Kevin. Bernard played 232 matches for Cardiff over ten seasons 1923/24 - 1932/33 scoring 54 tries, and he captained the side in 1931.
He gained six Welsh caps, and made his debut against Ireland in the 1925 Home Nations Championships.
He represented the Barbarians in 1925/26 against Leicester. Bernard passed away in April 1984 aged 79.
