John Charles Bevan born 1950 in Tylorstown, Rhondda played on the wing for Cardiff. He played 35 games for the club between 1969/70 and 1972/73,scoring 25 tries. He also played in the Snelling Sevens in 1972.
He played for Wales Schools, Wales U15,19 & 25s. He won his 1st full cap for Wales in 1971 against England and he went on to gain nine more caps John Bevan toured with the British and Irish Lions to Australia and New Zealand in 1971 (interestingly his team is shown as Cardiff College of Education rather than Cardiff and so he is not included amongst the Cardiff players that have represented the famous tourists) and represented the Barbarians against New Zealand in 1972/73.
September 1973 saw Bevan switch to rugby league and he joined Warrington. He gained 15 caps for Wales RL and 6 caps for Great Britain.
