The Cornish family were well know in Grangetown, Cardiff. Fred H Cornish, a forward was the first to play for Cardiff between 1895/96 -1898/99 he played 98 first team games
gained his Cardiff and four Welsh caps. His son, Don, played for Grange Baptists, and he helped the club during 1920/21 -1923/24 playing for the first team and reserves but preferred to remain loyal to the Baptists.
Four brothers related to the above also played for Cardiff. Arthur R A the best known, was a centre and made 267 appearances. Willie W E was a forward 1920/21-1924/25. He gained his cap for the first team playing in all 157 games.
Robert Cornish was a scrum half who did not quite make first team status, but played six games for them in 1924/25 George, the last of the brothers was a forward and played a number of matches, including three occasions for the First team.
Only F.H and R A Cornish were Welsh InternationalsF H had 4 caps and RA had 10 caps.
