Tom Dobson was a Scottish born rugby union forward, who played club rugby for Cardiff and international rugby for Wales. His brother George Dobson was also a rugby player who represented Cardiff and Wales.

Dobson born in the small fishing village of Keiss in Caithness, Scotland, but by 1873 his family were living in Pontypridd. In 1890, Dobson had moved to the Docks area of Cardiff, and he became a part of the pack for Cardiff RFC.

He played 122 games for the club between 1893/94 and 1898/99,scoring 11 tries. Tom gained four Welsh caps, making his debut against England in 1898.
