Position: Flyhalf

Played a number of games for Cardiff Rags after returning from France where he had played fly-half for Racing Club de Nice from 1960 till 1962 during which time he had a Welsh Trial in the Probables  XV Possilbles XV.

Early in his rugby career he played for the Welsh Secondary Schools against the Welsh Youth in 1959. Then he received a further six Secondary Schools Caps and was Captain in 1960, 61 and 62.

Whilst at school (Neath Grammar School) he played a number of games for Neath RFC, then played a number of games for Llanelly including 1963 match against the NZ All Blacks.

At Cardiff he was fortunate to play in 1969 against the Springboks (Barry John was injured with a cracked rib).

He played six games for the First XV, making his debut against Pontypool on 1st October 1969.
