Howard Dwyer first played for Cardiff from 1972 until
1979. Most of his rugby was played for the Athletic but he did play 13 games
for the first team after making his debut against Liverpool in 1971. Howard also toured twice with Cardiff to Cornwall and Italy in 1978.
He represented Welsh Colleges, Welsh Academicals, WRU Presidents XV and
Crawshays Welsh XV –oof whom he was captain in 1980. In 1980 the Bedwellty born
centre gained his Gwent County cap in. Also played for US Cognac in the
French Championship. A long spell at Tredegar saw him play over 300 games for the
team of whom he is now a life member of the club. He also coached Abertysswg
