James "Jim" Regan, local boy who was a Welsh Rugby Union and Professional Rugby League player of the 1930s.

 He played 18 First team games for Cardiff before "going North" and joining Huddersfield RL. James gained one international Rugby League Cap in 1939, he never gained a Union Cap unfortunately because of  Bunny Travers (Newport player) in his way.
