Another product of the Taffs Well Williams family, Gwyn Williams, was a robust back-row forward with Cardiff, gaining his senior cap in the 1935-6 season. A police officer whilst at Cardiff he turned professional with Wigan in 1938 and converted to wing in League. The outbreak of war curtailed his professional rugby career and during his military service he was seriously wounded in action.
Gwyn Williams played over 100 games for the Blue and Blacks prior to turning professional.
