Peter Nyham was born in Cardiff in 1930 and educated at St David's Elementary School and St Illtyd's School in the city. After playing three seasons for Old Illtydians he joined Cardiff in September 1954, making his debut for the Athletic XV against Barry. In an eight year playing career at the Arms Park he played 34 games for Cardiff, scoring 10 tries, and 191 games for the Athletic XV (he was captain of the Athletic in 1957 - 58 and 1958 - 59.
After retiring from the playing side Peter served on the rugby committee and was the Chairman in 1972 - 73, he was programme editor for 10 years, kept the match records, was assistant manager of the tour to Canada in 1986 and also a vice president of the club.
